L.A. News Viewers Are Pissed At "Hot Weather Girl" [Pic/Video]

The woman you see in the screen cap up above is Liberte Chan, KTLA's weekday-morning meteorologist -- a fancy word for the person who reads the weather in front of a green screen.

In an age when network weather reporters are headed in a certain direction (attractive, bubbly, "fun," and outfitted in "sexier" clothing), KTLA is doing what KTLA does -- the Los Angeles station hired Chan to compete with the Yanet Garcias of the news world.

Naturally, Chan is getting heat for her black cocktail dress in the photo above -- from readers and seemingly, her co-workers. In the video below. You'll see one of Chan's male co-workers hand her a cardigan sweater to cover up, clumsily explaining he's heard some people complaining about her "inappropriate" outfits as of late.

She seems a little upset by the gesture, and one can see why -- it's unprofessional and panders to the notion that Chan's too slutty for morning news. They then read some hateful reader mail during the commercial breaks. It all could have been handled after the broadcast.

Chan takes it well, but the entire way the events played out are definitely insulting. I'm not sure who's decision it was to dress her up in tighter, more revealing outfits, but if I had to guess, KTLA management suggested it, and Chan agreed to it.

Too slutty or is this just the cost of business in the network television world?

also every bartender now is a hot girl. but the way to beat people who are offended is to be more outraged and offended. and i bet alot of those offended people are people who would look offensive wearing that dress.

Are people really offend by everything more now or is it just easier to complain about it. People have been offended by every issue forever but now thanks to social media they can tell people about it and go all social justice warrior.

This is so weird. Jackie Johnson is way hotter than Liberte and dresses in clothes just like this. Why aren't they going after her?

So, you're offended by something. Take a deep breath and follow these easy and simple steps. Step #1. Remember, no one cares. Step #2.........

Wow - just wow! Regardless of anyone's opinion of whether this dress is appropriate for the morning news "meteorologist", or the general state of television news in this country, doing this on-air, plus reading critical emails on-air, is totally unprofessional and slime-bag behavior. It's between management and her regarding how she should dress on-air, and unless that anchor was acting on behalf of management, he should be canned, or at the very least make an equally public apology.

Agree completely. Nobody would go out in font of the camera without the approval of management. She didn't "choose" the cocktail dress, not that it looked out of place (it could have been a hell of a lot shorter and tighter). The station producer needs to explain what the hell happened, not her.

OK. I am genuinely confused. What is inappropriate about that dress?

Not a damn thing. And I don't say that because she looks hot in it, and I like looking at it. I say it because there's nothing wrong with it. If anyone can criticize it, it's a poor fashion choice for a morning news show, but certainly not inappropriate in any way.
