The Next Mozart: Dylan Beato, Perfect Pitch Child Prodigy

Submitted by: lalapancakes 5 months ago Lifestyle

Dylan Beato wasn't even six-years-old before it became profoundly clear, he is a bit of a tiny genius. Raised from infancy on classical music and trained from the very beginning in both his native english language and the name of every single note that carries sound, Beato has what few can claim for their own - he has perfect pitch.

One thing that really stands out to me in his training from the start is the young lad’s father and piano teacher's ultimate disgust in "low information" music... AKA pop music. I thought I was the only one in this world who felt most pop music too painful to listen too. While this new information is self-affirming, I also realize this kid exists just to make all of us feel like we’ve wasted our lives...

Squrlz4Ever...Dunno if Mozart had perfect pitch. Good question. But to underscore my point, if this kid WAS "The Next Mozart" he'd already be composing incredible, mind-boggling music. When Mozart was five he wrote some short compositions that are still being performed. He wrote his first full-length symphony at eight. ("Mozart drops mic, walks away...") Far as I'm concerned, PRINCE was this generation's Mozart.

Squrlz4Ever...I'm not dissing the kid. Just pointing out that perfect pitch and "musicianship" in the way we think of it aren't the same thing. Someone with perfect pitch could be like a savant who can instantly do mechanical functions like multiplying or dividing large numbers but couldn't deal with math on a conceptual level. Not saying that someone with perfect pitch COULDN'T be a great composer or musician or whatever, but having it doesn't as such make you a "Mozart."

Points taken; I appreciate it. Now I'm wondering: Would you happen to know if Mozart had perfect pitch?

i wonder how many beatings that took? hehe That side of music runs in my family that we can listen to a song and reproduce it pretty well... it also extended to other art mediums (clay, paint, sketch etc) in being able to copy just about anything, but as far as putting to paper what MY imagination has come up with? not gonna happen, and I've had years of training/schooling lol.

I dunno. Y'all are yawning at this and shrugging your shoulders. I think it's pretty phenomenal.

Perfect pitch is a mechanical ability not necessarily related to the ability to compose or perform music. Some musicians have it, many don't. RELATIVE pitch, being able to play or sing in tune with a given pitch is much more important.
