You Too Can Make Your Own Proper Tasty Big Kahuna Burger, A La "Pulp Fiction"

Submitted by: fancylad 1 month ago Lifestyle

Maybe it's because it's lunchtime in my time zone at the moment, and there are no restaurants within walking distance near office -- I'm surrounded by lame, overpriced food trucks -- but I'm getting the same delicious vibe watching Jules eat Brett's Big Kahuna burger now as I did when I first saw "Pulp Fiction" in '94. Whoever made that movie burger should've gotten an Academy Award for Best Prop in a Major Motion Picture.

With that said, how does one make a Big Kahuna burger? The local Big Kahuna chain Jules mentions in the scene doesn't exist -- Quentin Tarantino uses the fictitious greasy spoon the same way he uses Red Apple cigarettes -- as a plot device, so there's no definitive recipe. But this guy's how-to is what I'd imagine the quintessential Big Kahuna burger tastes like. And who knew the secret is all in the bun prep? A true revelation.

If Brett had one of these, Jules might not have capped his ass and Flock of Seagulls might the still be alive.

That does look really good but rather than making me crave cheeseburgers, it's making me want to watch Pulp Fiction again... for the i-don't-know-how-manyeth time.  I'll be on the couch...

FYI...anyone who has given up meat but loves a good old Hawaiian pizza...The Wade Wilson is the way to go.  Sub Olives for Ham = Salty and Sweet!

"This is a tasty burger!" Oooh. Now I'm leaning toward going out for a cheeseburger tonight. It's a chilly, rainy day and I think a cheeseburger (with jalapenos and swiss) and some fries would really hit the spot.

squrlz4ever If you can find one, try Umami burger -- it's a Japanese-fusion burger place. Lots of weird, spicy choices -- I suggest the Daniel-san.

That does look like a tasty burger, I would perhaps add some crispy back bacon to add a little saltiness against the sweetness of the pineapple and onions.

mrteatime I like ordering a burger with bacon, but will eat the bacon separately.  Enjoy the taste each imparts on the other, but don't enjoy the bacon ON the burger.

But, this guy's cooking on a hotplate?!?!  Gotta cook with GAS.
