Trump And His Crew Flipped On 4 Of His Core Campaign Promises In Under 24 Hours

Submitted by: normalfreak2 1 week ago News & Politics

Trump and his staff reversed at least 4 campaign positions on Wednesday -- maybe more! What were they?

  1. He reversed his position on Chinese currency manipulation.
  2. How changed his mind on how he felt about Federal Reserve chair Janet Yellen.
  3. He declared that NATO is "no longer obsolete," after he said it was obsolete.
  4. He gave his support to the Export-Import Bank, something he criticized heavily during his campaign.

And if you really want to nitpick, we all remember what he said about Obama and the bombing of Syria...

Any observer of U.S. politics and presidents in particular knows campaign-promise position changes like this are common. Seriously, don't pretend this is new. The question is, do you think these revised positions are good or bad? Are you happy with them?

thething911 It was pretty cool. Now that was one campaign promise he kept. I think it was during the primaries when asked about what he would do about ISIS and he said something like "Bomb the shit out of them" that got so many peoples panties bunched up.

"So does he mean what he says or not?"
Yes, he does. Sometimes it might only be for about 5 minutes but for those 5 minutes he really means it!

Trump ran on a promise to not only rock the boat but to scuttle the whole damn thing. The problem is the government isn't a small ship that can be tipped easily, it is a slow moving tanker that is even slower at changing direction. Any president who ran on a platform of change quickly learns this reality. The problem with Trump is the radical ideas he is managing to get through (with Signing Statements) is scaring the shit out of a lot of people. And on the other end, the radical ideas he is not able to get through is pissing off the people he promised these ideas to. With each win or loss he looses more popularity. That is what happens when you run on a platform of fear, anger and xenophobia.

I don't blame him for this as much as I understand how little of so many of the issues he really knew anything about. Can't rely on Fox News if you want to truly understand reality.

oobaka I assume you're being sarcastic, but around where I live (Midwest), there are a TON of people who only consume Fox News for their news. It's far more than merely a handful of people.
