Trump's Currently At Pace To Break Obama's 8-Year Travel Costs In His First Year As POTUS

Submitted by: rumham 2 weeks ago News & Politics

In his first 80 days as the president, Trump has already spend $20 million on travel -- that number comes mostly from all of his weekend jaunts to his golf resort Mar-a-lago. Do the math and you find that Trump pacing to break Obama's 8-year travel costs in his first year as POTUS. How do you even defend that? Especially since there were so many staunch Republicans who practically stroked out every time Obama was seen holding a golf club every few months?

The White House putting green.  Looks to me like there is room for a par 3 course there too.  Trump needs a travel budget imposed on him.  USA business that can't be done at the White House/Camp David is fine.

5cats not sure if your inept or trying to play act like a preteen playing COD. There is no logic to your discussion. No one is talking about Bush compared to Obama or Clinton or HW. Not one of those people have mocked one another. Trump clearly had it out for Obama playing golf all the time, and he literally comes in as president as THE BIGGEST HYPOCRITE EVER! Playing more golf in his first 80 days than Obama did in over 2 years. Have you ever heard of cognitive dissonance before? Even after you look up the definition, because I know you will have to, you still won't believe you have it. You are a discrace ALL conservatives out there with your vile rhetoric! This isn't even your country you freakin troll!

prichards114 Don't disparage  cocksuckers by comparing Trump to them.  Cocksuckers are at least a benefit to mankind as a whole.

No need to defend anything. The MSM and DNC (sorry to be redundant) have spent the past 8 years telling us that a golfing President is the best thing possible!
Why would they lie about that? It must be absolutely true! Journalists are unbiased professionals who fact-check every word!

dromed Exactly!
We objected to the hypocrisy of the lib-left, not to Obama's obsession with golfing. But they are desperate to alter history and wave false flags to distract from their #falsenews...

dromed I know, why would anyone? Like he's not going to go where he wants anyway. I will have to defend his choice though. I think I'd rather work out of Mar-a-lago, in Palm Beach than the White House in DC too.

Obama was criticized a great deal for his golf outings. No doubt about that.

trimble Only because the Dems attacked Bush for far less golfing and then refused to give him credit when he gave up the game to show solidarity with the troops: something Obama refused to do.
We criticized their hypocrisy by pointing out Obama's record-setting golfing and their silence over it...

If a President golfs or goes bowling in his free time or to (as Trump often does) entertain dignitaries? Who cares? Oh right! The liberals!

Gave Bush no credit when he stopped? Check.
Changed the rules when a D got elected? Triple check!
Defended Obama still golfing after sending troops overseas to fight and die? Check.
Attack Trump for far less? Obviously!

And you try to use the h-word on others? Fuck that shit.

5cats No I didn't, feel free to locate me endlessly bashing Bush for golfing.  I lambasted him for the Wars, Katrina, his general ineptness at being President.

  • 5cats How have I changed any rules?  The next two "points" you made were predicated on the first one being true.  Since the first one isn't true the rest of them aren't.  How simple are you?

normalfreak2 Wondering if there is any use in pointing to the blind, they either choose to see it or don't doesn't mean what you're pointing too isn't there just because they close their eyes and wish it away. I hope they are just trolling to get a rise of people on some partisanship warfare, as annoying that maybe it's still much better than the alternative that they actually believe the BS they are spouting.

Trump is w/e he can care less if we think of him as a hypocrite or not, so I don't get the need for the blind support, the man is not lacking in confidence, he doesn't need the participation trophy treatment. He PERSONALLY tweeted negatively about the behavior now he's engaging in it there's really no room for debate on it and yes I'm sure the same happened for Bush, difference is Obama didn't personally shame Bush for relaxing/golfing even if Dems did.

handmadebeat LOL... you might want to flesh out that idea a bit more so a discussion can ensue. I'm not sure which scumbag on the political scene you're referring to. There are so many, after all.  :)

At any rate, welcome to IAB! I know, I know. You've been around for years, but seldom comment. Well, I figure a late welcome wagon is better than never. Please upload an avatar and comment more often.

handmadebeat you answered rumham's question at least: this is how the blind loyalists defend the Commander-In-Tweet, by deflecting and attacking with ad-hom taunts. For your transparency in the matter I thank you.
